If you are not familiar with Angel Food Ministries we encourage you to go to their web site at www.angelfoodministries.com and read about the wonderful ministry we will be a part of.

Angel Food is an outreach to our surrounding community and our congregation to help save money on our grocery bills. Everyone qualifies! By buying food from first rate suppliers at substantial volume discounts, Angel Food Ministries is able to provide families with approximately $65 worth of quality nutritious food for $30. Angel Food Ministries does not use out-of-date food or inferior products.

Each month, Angel Food Ministries also offers "specialty boxes" of steak, chicken, pork or other foods. This bonus program affords participants additional food choices at a great value. There is no purchase limit for specialty boxes or bonus foods.

There are no applications or qualifications necessary to purchase. Comparison shopping nationwide in various grocery stores has revealed that the average retail value for the same food items would be approximately $65. Generally, one box of Angel Food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month.

You can purchase your Angel Food each month by going to www.angelfoodministries.com and put Orlando Baptist Church in the search section. To make it easy for you to purchase your food you can pay for your orders with credit, debit, cash, checks & EBT.

We are also looking for volunteers. You can be a part of this "hands on" outreach to our community by volunteering one day a month. Have you noticed how it was hard when we began letting go of things in our life, whether food or other areas? Then we began to realize we were going to survive and things seemed to be okay. Then about that time, we would have another tough day or hour where letting go was still hard. Well, that’s been my story and it has been a great journey to know I want more of Him and less of me, more of His provision and less of my provision, more of His plans and less of my plans. We are not finished but we are near the end of our 21 days. Are you learning anything? Have your priorities changed? Will life be different in the future than in the past?

Have you spent more time with the Lord? Have you trusted Him more? Have you asked for that thing that only comes by prayer and fasting? This is a time where we have emptied our hands of something in our life so we could reach both hands up to God so He could fill them. I love the story of the little boy who went with his mom to the store. At the counter there was a big bowl of candy. The boy stared at it longingly. The storeowner said, “You’re a good boy, reach in and get a handful, it’s free.” The boy just stared. The man said, “Do you want your mom to do it for you?” The boy just stared. Finally the man said, “You are just shy,” so he reached in with his big hand and grabbed a big handful and filled the boys pockets. As they left the store the mother said, “Son, why did you do that?” He answered, “Because his hand was bigger than mine.” Neat thought. God is greater than we will ever be and can meet every need we have. I want what God will do in my life, not what I can do.

One more take away today; when you and I can’t, God can. When we are not enough, He is enough. When I can’t make it, He carries me through. I believe it, I know it and I can remember He has done this for me often times. I could spend the day sharing my stories, but the important ones are yours. Here is a brief story from Psalm 78. Look with me at all God did for Israel:
12Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
13He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap.
14In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.
15He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.
16He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.
17And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness.
18And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.
19Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?
20Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? Can he provide flesh for his people?
After all God did, they still doubt and say, “But can He give bread and meat?”
I love the verse in Amazing Grace that says “Through many dangers toils and snares I have already come. “Tis grace that brought me safe thus far and grace will lead me home.”
Remember this my friend, He has been faithful and HE will be in the future. Trust Him and call on Him. Let’s remember the God who has held us through the fast, He will hold us through the future.
I love you. I am praying for you. I hope your life has become less of you and more of Him.
